Thalía is passionate about sharing the traditional culinary knowledge of her home region of Oaxaca with the world.
This young chef and entrepreneur has spent much of her life working in kitchens and fields, first as part of her daily routine and later as a profession. Born and raised in the centre of San Mateo Yucutindoó, a community in the district of Sola de Vega in the Sierra Sur of Oaxaca, she has been involved in all aspects of family cooking since the age of seven. From the age of seven, she was involved in all aspects of family cooking. Her keen interest in cooking led her to study for a degree in Gastronomy at the Technological University of the Central Valleys of Oaxaca, where she continued to learn about local ingredients, traditional techniques and recipes.
Thalía organises the annual Culinary Knowledge Exchange Forum and publishes the Gusto Local guide. Her goal is to promote, safeguard and disseminate Oaxacan cuisine. Over the last year, she has travelled all over Mexico, carrying her flavours, life story and unparalleled talent with her.
