With more than 20 years' experience in the wine sector, this oenologist from Zamora has developed her career in Spain and combined it with international experience in places as far afield as New Zealand.She has worked in boutique wineries such as Viñas del Cenit (D.O. Tierra del Vino de Zamora) and Dominio de Atauta (D.O. Ribera del Duero). She is currently in charge of Bodegas Viña Mayor (D.O. Ribera del Duero, Rueda, Toro, Valdeorras and Rías Baixas), where she produces wines that are highly acclaimed by wine critics.

Almudena Alberca MW, winemaker and technical director of Entrecanales Domecq e Hijos, became the first female Master of Wine in Spain in August 2018, the only female representative among the seven MWs in Spain. The Master of Wine is the title that represents the highest level of knowledge and excellence in the wine sector, with just over 400 distributed around the world.
