The Pau Albornà i Torras Gastronomic Journalism Award will be presented to the journalist and food critic José Carlos Capel.
A highly respected and knowledgeable figure in Spanish cuisine, he is a member of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy and several Spanish and European gastronomic associations. He is also president of Madrid Fusión.
He has been the food critic for El País for over 35 years, sharing his thoughts on restaurants around the world. He eats at least one meal away from home every day of the year, sometimes two, in an attempt to find young, unknown chefs or visit the establishments of established chefs.
